‘Tinubu went to university without attending primary, secondary schools’ – Dino Melaye

Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has criticized President Bola Tinubu for not providing evidence of his primary and secondary school education. Melaye, speaking in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, remarked on Tinubu’s claim of attending university without completing his earlier schooling.
During his address, Melaye called on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to address such matters. His comments followed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recent disclosure, which revealed that Tinubu’s application for the 2027 election lacked information regarding his primary and secondary education.
In the submitted form, Tinubu indicated that he attended only a university, prompting diverse responses from the public.
Melaye stated, “The President of this country filled an INEC form. He’s the most brilliant person on earth. He went to university straight without attending primary and secondary schools. What are we saying about it? What questions are we asking about this?”
He urged lawyers to ensure that the NBA leads proactive inquiries into issues affecting the country, emphasizing the importance of local branches taking action on matters within their jurisdictions.
“The NBA must come back to be the watchdog and conscience of this country,” Melaye added. He stressed that the association’s leadership will only fulfill its role if members contribute by asking questions and demanding accountability. He expressed hope that the incoming NBA president would continue the current leadership’s efforts to address these challenges.
