‘It’s illegal to arrest me here’ — Odumodublvck clashes with police officers
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck was involved in a confrontation with police officers during an event on Saturday morning, asserting that his arrest at the venue was unlawful.
A video that surfaced online shows an officer questioning Odumodublvck about his resistance to arrest, stating that an invitation had been issued to him regarding the matter.
“An invitation was sent to you, it’s okay,” the officer is heard saying. “What I want to ask you now is, are you resisting an arrest? If you’re not resisting, tell me why you are not following the police.”
In response, Odumodublvck stated that his lawyers had already addressed the situation and questioned the officer’s authority to detain him. He emphasized, “You don’t have any jurisdiction, that’s what you want to do. Don’t tell me to wait.”
The rapper claimed that police had previously visited his residence, instructing residents within his estate not to inform him about the events leading to the attempted arrest, prompting him to consult with his legal team.
“My lawyers came to your office, I am not resisting arrest; it was attended to,” Odumodublvck maintained.
He further claimed he could not be removed from the venue due to an existing court order and accused the officers of attempting to limit his ability to publicly discuss the issue.
“It is illegal to take me from here, my brother. You’re telling me not to tweet, not to speak,” he stated.
The footage concludes with Odumodublvck persistently challenging the officers over their actions and reaffirming that the matter had been resolved through legal channels.
