Why I once evicted my son from home – Patience Ozokwor
Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, known as Mama G, recently expressed her views on parenting, emphasizing the importance of allowing children to experience hardship and hard work. In an interview with media personality Femi Baba, Ozokwor stated that shielding children from challenges can ultimately hinder their development.
“The fastest way to ruin a child’s life is to prevent them from experiencing hardship,” she said. Drawing from personal experience, Ozokwor recalled a time when she evicted her son from their home, encouraging him to become self-sufficient. “I told my son, ‘My house isn’t yours. Go and work for your own,’” she noted.
Ozokwor attributes her children’s success to the disciplined upbringing they received, which included lessons in hard work. She advised parents against denying their children the opportunity to struggle, asserting that such experiences are crucial for personal growth.
