Tinubu mourns death of Tanzania President Samia’s husband

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his condolences following the death of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
In a statement, Tinubu referred to Hafidh as a lifelong companion to President Samia and offered his heartfelt sympathies to her, their children, the Hassan family, and the people of Tanzania.
He acknowledged that Hafidh stood by President Samia for nearly five decades, supporting her throughout various phases of her public service.
“I received with deep sadness the news of the passing of Hafidh Ameir Hassan, husband of my dear sister and colleague,” Tinubu stated.
The Nigerian leader noted that Hafidh’s death represents a significant loss, leaving President Samia without her lifelong partner, her children without a father, and the family without one of its key pillars.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, and on behalf of my family, I extend my deepest condolences to President Samia, her children, the Hassan family, and the people of Tanzania,” he added.
Tinubu concluded his message with a prayer for Hafidh’s eternal rest and for strength for President Samia and her family during this difficult time.
