CAF Confederation Cup: El-Kanemi Warriors qualify for next round despite loss to UDIB
El-Kanemi Warriors suffered a 1-0 defeat to UDIB of Guinea-Bissau in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie on Sunday night in Bissau. Despite the loss, the Maiduguri-based club advanced to the second preliminary round with a 3-1 aggregate victory, having secured a 3-0 win in the first leg held at home.
El-Kanemi will now face Moroccan club Raja Casablanca in the next round of the competition. The first leg of this matchup is scheduled to take place at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne between October 16 and 18. The return fixture will be hosted by Raja at their home ground in Casablanca from October 23 to 25.
The winners of this two-legged tie will progress to the lucrative group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
