Video of Dino Melaye, Seyi Tinubu, Aisha Buhari on holiday in Malaga sparks reactions

Dino Melaye Faces Criticism Over Vacation Video with Aisha Buhari

Dino Melaye, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is receiving significant backlash on social media following the release of a video featuring him and former First Lady Aisha Buhari during a vacation in Málaga, Spain. The clip also includes Seyi Tinubu and his wife, Ben Bruce, as well as businessman Terry Waya.

The video, widely circulated online, depicts the group at a welcome party held at La Cabane, a Dolce & Gabbana-branded venue near Málaga. In the footage, Aisha Buhari is seen surrounded by women in white outfits, gathered around a large bowl of fruit while the men pose casually nearby.

The video has sparked diverse reactions from Nigerians online. Some users commented on Aisha Buhari’s choice not to wear her traditional Islamic hijab, while others expressed concerns regarding Melaye’s allegiance to political parties.

Reactions across social media included a mix of criticism and resignation about political dynamics in Nigeria. One user remarked, “Wike is also in Spain. They are all working together—APC, ADC, and PDP. The only opposition is Peter Obi.” Another user expressed a sentiment of disenchantment, stating, “If only ordinary people knew how bad and dangerous what is coming is, they would rethink their support for APC and ADC.”

Others voiced frustration over the perceived disconnect between political elites and the general populace, with one user lamenting, “Here in Nigeria, some gullible youth are busy collecting small handouts while these politicians enjoy life with their families.”

Melaye’s presence in Spain alongside figures tied to the ruling party has drawn ire from many who feel that political leaders are out of touch with the struggles faced by ordinary Nigerians. A user succinctly stated, “Nigerian leaders are so wicked. Notice how they’ve all gone for vacation, only to return and start lying to the people for the next elections.”

Amid the criticisms, some social media users emphasized the need for awareness among constituents, highlighting that political divisions only serve to distract from the broader issues impacting everyday citizens.
