Oba Isin, KWARA STATE — Armed bandits launched an attack on Oba Isin in the Isin Local Government Area on Wednesday evening, leading to the death of a forest guard and the abduction of his wife.
Sources indicate that the incident took place around 8 p.m., triggering panic among residents as gunfire echoed throughout the community. Many fled their homes, while others were forced to remain inside for safety.
This marks the second fatality associated with recent bandit activity in the region. Earlier, Samuel Omotosho Olawuyi was killed during a separate incident in Koro town, part of an escalating wave of violence in the area.
Military operations aimed at eradicating banditry in the Kwara South Senatorial District are ongoing, but reports of heavy gunfire suggest that the situation remains volatile. Residents described a scene of chaos, with sustained gunshots creating a state of alarm throughout the town.
