Herder reportedly killed, 42 cattle rustled in Plateau
A Fulani herder was killed and 42 cattle were reportedly stolen in the Bankansarki area of Kongon Langai District, Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The incident occurred Thursday, as the victim was tending to the cattle, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the information on social media. Witnesses reported that the attackers fled with the livestock following the assault.
This event adds to ongoing tensions and violence in Mangu. It is believed to be linked to a previous incident on September 12, in which three Fulani herders were killed and approximately 50 cattle were allegedly taken in the Sabon Gari area.
Additionally, reports have emerged of destruction to homes and cattle around Kantoma on Sunday. The details regarding that incident have not yet been independently verified.
