Nations League: Lewandowski breaks Ronaldo’s record

WARSAW, Poland — Robert Lewandowski set a new milestone in the UEFA Nations League on Friday, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo to become the oldest player to score a hat trick in the tournament’s history.
The Polish striker, aged 38, achieved this feat during Poland’s decisive 6-0 victory over Romania at home. Lewandowski scored in the 24th, 47th, and 86th minutes of the match, showcasing his skill and striking ability.
This match also marked Lewandowski’s 170th appearance for the national team, further extending his record. With his three goals, he raised his international tally to 92.
Previously, Ronaldo held the record, scoring a hat trick for Portugal at 34 years and 120 days during the Nations League semi-final against Switzerland in 2019. Lewandowski completed his hat trick at 38 years and 42 days, underlining his longevity and performance at the elite level of international football.
