BREAKING: FG Confirms Ebola Case In FCT, Tracing 44 Contacts

The Federal Government has confirmed a case of Ebola in the Federal Capital Territory, following laboratory verification.
The affected patient, a woman who recently traveled to Nigeria from Uganda, is currently receiving treatment in isolation after spending several days at a private hospital in the area.
In response to the situation, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and the FCT Health Services Secretariat are collaborating to manage the outbreak and prevent further transmission.
Authorities have initiated contact tracing, identifying 44 close contacts, including healthcare workers, patients, caregivers, and fellow travelers. Surveillance efforts have been increased, and the hospital is receiving assistance to enhance infection prevention and control measures.
The federal government has urged all public and private healthcare facilities across the country to remain vigilant. Facilities are advised to promptly isolate suspected cases, adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, and report any suspected infections to public health authorities without delay.
