‘Burna Boy begged Davido for space on his jet’ — Skales

Nigerian singer Skales has shared an account of an incident involving fellow artist Burna Boy, who reportedly asked singer Davido for a seat on his private jet during a trip to Yola for a performance.

In a recent interview, Skales explained that he and Burna Boy were scheduled to perform in Yola, prompting Burna Boy to reach out to Davido for permission to travel with his team. Davido consented, but due to the jet’s limited capacity, he had to request that one of his crew members delay their travel until the following day.

Skales described the flight, noting the cramped conditions that necessitated one passenger sitting on the lavatory due to a lack of available seating. He also highlighted that Davido willingly relinquished his own seat to accommodate him during the journey.

“Burna called Davido and said, ‘Please, can I join their jet?’ Davido said, ‘Why not?’” Skales recounted.

Upon arrival in Yola, Skales performed alongside Burna Boy, an experience he credits with facilitating his later collaboration with the music group Major Lazer.
