Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw criticized Nigeria’s Minister of Power over the ongoing electricity crisis in the country, questioning the government’s rationale for the unreliable power supply.

In an Instagram video, Henshaw expressed her frustration with the frequent outages, challenging the minister to disclose the identities of Nigerians who purportedly complained that consistent electricity supply was detrimental to items stored in their freezers.

“Mr. Minister of Power, there’s no light. There’s hardly been electricity. You provide it, and then it’s gone within minutes,” she stated. Henshaw demanded, “I need the names and numbers of these people who called you and suggested you turn off the power or reduce it.”

She highlighted that poor electricity supply continues to plague Nigerians in 2026, with power sometimes lasting as little as five minutes before outages occur. This ongoing issue has compelled many households to depend on generators and solar energy for basic daily tasks.

Further expressing her dissatisfaction, Henshaw questioned why the country still grapples with inadequate electricity after so many years. She pointed out the added burden of rising living costs and the sweltering heat, asking why citizens must endure further hardship due to insufficient power supply.

In her Instagram caption, she quoted General Agnes from Ghana, saying, “To hell with all of you. What kind of wickedness is this that you people are doing?? With the high cost of everything already, with this blazing hot sun outside?? Wetin naaaaa???!!!”
