FCT Council polls: EFCC arrests 20 for alleged electoral fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 20 individuals for various electoral offenses related to the recent local government elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Dele Oyewale, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, made the announcement in a statement from Abuja on Sunday.
The arrests resulted from incidents of vote buying and selling, as well as obstruction of officers, involving a total of 17.2 million Naira. One individual was reportedly found with 13.5 million Naira in a vehicle parked near a polling booth in Kwali Local Government Area.
According to Oyewale, arrests were made in several locations: two suspects were detained in Abaji, nine in Gwagwalada, four in Kuje, and the remaining four in Kwali. He confirmed that the suspects will face charges in court following the completion of investigations.
