Wife of slain Boko Haram commander surrenders to troops in Borno

A female member of Boko Haram surrendered to troops from Operation Hadin Kai in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State on February 26.

The surrender of 25-year-old Kaltum Dalha was reported by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama through social media platform X.

Dalha arrived at a Forward Operating Base with her two-year-old child, Awana Dalha, around 11:00 a.m. Sources indicate that her decision to surrender was influenced by the recent death of her husband, who was reportedly a commander in the Mairam Buri enclave. He was killed during a confrontation with military forces.

During her interrogation, Dalha confirmed that Boko Haram had begun to disintegrate following the loss of its leadership.

Operation Hadin Kai has intensified military operations against insurgents in the North-East, resulting in the neutralization of several commanders, the recovery of weapons, and the surrender of both combatants and their families.
