Nasarawa State Police Recover Stolen Truck Cabin, Arrest Two Suspects

Nasarawa State Police have apprehended two suspects and recovered a stolen DAF truck cabin in the Mararaba area of Karu Local Government following a targeted operation based on intelligence.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Ramhan Nansel issued a statement on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, detailing the operation. It was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to enhance community-based policing and address criminal activities across the state.

According to Nansel, officers from the Mararaba ‘A’ Division arrested Abdulrahaman Danjuma, 31, a resident of Mararaba, and Saadu Umar, 34, of Zone Four, Abuja. The arrests occurred around 10:30 a.m. on February 28, 2026, at the Tudun Wada area of Mararaba.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered an unregistered white DAF truck cabin along with two number plates registered as DGA 118 XA and USS 168 XA.

Interrogation of the suspects revealed that the truck had been stolen from Kogi State and transported to Mararaba, where the trailer body was reportedly sold for ₦4 million. The transaction was facilitated through an intermediary who remains unidentified and at large.

“The suspects confessed to stealing the trailer and selling the body through a proxy,” the statement noted.

In a show of support for the police operatives, Commissioner Mohammed praised their professionalism and instructed that efforts be intensified to identify and apprehend additional individuals involved in the crime. He also ordered the transfer of the suspects and the recovered items to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for further inquiry.

The police reiterated their commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents in Nasarawa State.
