MALAMAWAR YARI, Sokoto State — Armed bandits, reportedly disguised in women’s hijabs, launched an attack on Mallamawar Yari village in the Gawakuke ward of Rabah Local Government Area on Saturday night. The attack resulted in several fatalities and multiple abductions among local residents.
The incident was reported on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine, who noted that the bandits utilized disguises to navigate the village undetected during the late-night assault. Eyewitness accounts indicated that many residents were killed, and others were taken to an unknown location.
Concerns have escalated among residents in light of ongoing violence in various communities throughout Sokoto State. Bakatsine remarked on social media, “With attacks continuing across communities in Sokoto State, the question remains; what concrete measures are being taken to halt the growing wave of insecurity in the state?”
