Russia vs Nigeria: Super Eagles coach, Chelle invites Ajasa to play friendly match

Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Chelle has announced the invitation of Rostov midfielder Ibraheem Mahfus Ajasa to join the national team for an international friendly match against Russia on Tuesday.
Rostov confirmed Ajasa’s inclusion through a post on its official website on Saturday, extending well wishes to the young player. This addition comes following the withdrawal of Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, who cited an injury as the reason for his absence from the upcoming match.
Ajasa, who joined the Russian club last year, is poised to potentially make his debut for Nigeria against Russia. The 20-year-old midfielder is expected to provide depth to Chelle’s lineup.
The Super Eagles are looking to rebound from a recent 3-0 loss to Guinea-Bissau in a qualifier for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
