Operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 15 individuals suspected of unlawfully transporting radioactive solid minerals.
The arrests were made by officers from the commission’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate, as detailed in a statement on the agency’s official X page. The suspects were intercepted on March 8, 2026, along Suleja Maji Road while attempting to transport the minerals in three trucks.
Investigation findings suggest the materials were being moved to various locations across the country for unspecified purposes. The suspects are currently detained at the EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate, where further inquiries are ongoing.
The commission has indicated that the suspects will be charged in court once the investigation is complete.
