Troops Rescue Cleric in Kaduna State Kidnapping Attempt
In Kaduna State, members of Operation Safe Haven successfully thwarted an attempted kidnapping and rescued a cleric in the Sanga Local Government Area. The incident was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Saturday.
According to Makama, the attempted abduction occurred in the early hours of March 14 when suspected kidnappers targeted Rev. Nuhu Anche at his residence in Ningishe Village. He noted that troops stationed at Ungwan Gora promptly responded following a distress call regarding the situation.
The quick action of the troops reportedly disrupted the kidnapping attempt, compelling the assailants to flee without their intended victim. “The swift response of the troops forced the kidnappers to flee without taking the victim,” a security source stated.
Rev. Anche, affiliated with the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), was safely rescued during the operation and subsequently taken to the General Hospital in Gwantu for medical evaluation.
In light of this incident, security personnel have increased patrols and surveillance efforts in surrounding communities to deter further criminal activities.
