Ballon d’Or 2026: ‘He has been exceptional’ – Allen on award winner
Clive Allen, a former forward for Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, has endorsed Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane as a strong contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Allen praised Kane’s performance over the past few seasons, highlighting his scoring prowess. Last season, the England captain netted over 70 goals for both club and country, while also securing the Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich.
Kane is considered one of the frontrunners for the prestigious award following an impressive 2025-26 campaign.
“I believe Harry should win the Ballon d’Or, yes, and purely because of what he has achieved,” Allen stated in an interview with the Press Association. He emphasized that previous winners of the Ballon d’Or have consistently showcased remarkable accomplishments throughout their careers.
