Bandit leaders killed during internal fight as troops neutralize notorious loyalists

Security Forces Target Banditry in Zamfara and Katsina States

ZAMFARA STATE — Several suspected bandits were neutralized during a security operation in the Keta community of the Tsafe Local Government Area on Tuesday. The operation was carried out by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), who engaged armed individuals believed to be affiliated with notorious bandit leaders.

The details of the operation were shared by security analyst Bakatsine on the social media platform X. The bandits involved are reported to have been linked to various violent activities in the region, including attacks on local residents, property looting, and the destruction of farmland.

During the operation, the CJTF specifically targeted a group said to be loyal to commanders identified as Kachalla Juli, Uti, and Ibrahim. The action resulted in the neutralization of several fighters associated with these leaders.

In a related incident, two prominent bandit leaders were reportedly killed following a violent clash among rival armed factions in Tsarika village, located in the Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State. The confrontation reportedly resulted in the deaths of Kachalla Liti and Kachalla Sani.

Local sources indicated that the clash represents a significant setback for the criminal networks operating in the Musawa and Matazu areas, which have faced ongoing insecurity and attacks on innocent communities. Bakatsine expressed hope that continued divisions among armed groups would help restore peace and security across Katsina State and Nigeria.
