Nigerian Army Recovers Rustled Livestock in Katsina State Operation

Bandits fled into the bush after Nigerian Army troops, in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, recovered a significant number of stolen livestock during a security operation in Charanchi Local Government Area on Wednesday.

The operation was announced by security analyst Bakatsine in a post on X, detailing that troops from the 17 Brigade, Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA acted upon intelligence provided by local residents. The information indicated that suspected bandits were transporting a large herd of stolen animals near Kaddanya village.

Following this intelligence, the joint security team established an ambush at Sabari Reraya village, where they intercepted the suspects.

“A gun battle ensued as the bandits attempted to resist the troops,” Bakatsine noted. “However, the security personnel overpowered the attackers, compelling them to abandon the stolen livestock and flee into the nearby bush.”

The recovered livestock has since been secured, and efforts are underway to identify their rightful owners for a return.
