Bandits kill Kano APC leader
Bandits reportedly killed two residents, including a local leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), during an attack in Rantan community, Bebeji Local Government Area, Kano State.
The assault took place Sunday night when armed individuals entered the area and opened fire on residents. Journalist Bakatsine, who covers conflict and insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West, shared details of the incident on social media platform X on Monday.
One of the victims has been identified as Alhaji Garba Buba, the APC ward leader in Rantan, who was reportedly shot during the attack. Another resident, Sulaiman Zunduma, was also killed at the scene.
This violent incident followed closely after the reported rescue of Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano, who had been abducted in Chiromawa, Garun Malam Local Government Area.
As of this report, the Kano State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
