NDC Zoning Decision for 2027 Presidential Ticket

ABUJA — The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially designated its presidential ticket for the 2027 election to Southern Nigeria for a single four-year term.
The resolution was passed during the party’s inaugural National Convention, initiated by Afam Victor Ogene, the representative for Ogbaru Constituency in Anambra State, and approved by delegates.
In addition, the party determined that following this term, the presidential ticket would revert to the northern region.
This decision opens the door for potential candidates, including former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and other southern aspirants, to secure the party’s presidential nomination.
