Donald Trump to attend World Cup final, present trophy: Infantino | World Cup 2026 News

FIFA President to Present Trophy with Trump at World Cup Final

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that he will be joined by U.S. President Donald Trump for the trophy presentation at the World Cup final on July 19 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

In an interview with Fox News on Tuesday, Infantino stated, “We will be together with the president, enjoying the final, and handing the trophy to the winner – of course, together.” He confirmed that both he and Trump would participate in the presentation ceremony.

Infantino’s comments come after Trump’s involvement in the previous year’s Club World Cup final, where he was present as Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 at the same venue. During that event, Trump remained on stage to witness Chelsea captain Reece James lift the trophy. A replica of the trophy later appeared in the Oval Office, according to reports.

Infantino has expressed a commitment to attending as many matches as possible during the ongoing tournament, aiming for up to two matches per day. However, Trump has not yet attended any games in this year’s World Cup, which is currently underway.

As the tournament progresses, both leaders’ presence at the final is anticipated to draw significant attention.
