EPL: Gallagher reveals what Man City’s punishment would be after 114 rule breach
Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has spoken out about potential sanctions facing Manchester City after the club was found guilty of 114 breaches of Premier League rules. Gallagher, a lifelong supporter of the team, indicated that a senior official involved in the disciplinary proceedings shared insights on possible consequences.
On Friday, the Premier League confirmed that Manchester City had been found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges levied against them. As of now, the league has not released a statement detailing specific punishments, leaving the situation in a state of uncertainty.
City, who have claimed eight English championships, is expected to appeal the ruling, a process that may prolong the proceedings until 2027. However, Gallagher asserted that if the appeal fails, the club will retain its titles from 2009 to 2018 and will not face expulsion from the Premier League. He suggested that the consequences would likely include a transfer ban and a financial penalty.
On Sunday evening, Gallagher shared his comments on social media platform X, stating, “Just been told by someone in a very very high position if we lose our appeal which we won’t we’ll be getting a FINE and TRANSFER BAN and that’s it so all you desperate neurotic S****BUBBLES hush it up to ras MCFC LG x.”
When later questioned about the appropriateness of revealing such information, Gallagher responded, “Just said it keep up.”
Additionally, BBC Sport reported similar conclusions over the weekend, indicating that there is little appetite within the Premier League, both among its officials and member clubs, to strip Manchester City of the titles they won during the period in question.
