EPL: Phil Neville pinpoints Chelsea’s weakness Hull City exploited
PHIL NEVILLE IDENTIFIES CHELSEA’S VULNERABILITIES IN DRAW WITH HULL CITY
Former Everton player Phil Neville has highlighted a key weakness in Chelsea’s defense that was exploited by Hull City during their Premier League match on Saturday, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Morgan Rogers opened the scoring for Hull City in the early minutes of the match. However, Chelsea responded with two goals, including one from Joao Pedro, which allowed them to regain parity after Hull’s Mohamed Belloumi scored twice to turn the tide in Hull’s favor.
Neville, speaking on NBC Sports, noted that many expected Hull to adopt a defensive stance. “We felt before the game that Hull were just going to park the bus, but they did not do that,” he said.
He pointed out that Hull was able to capitalize on Chelsea’s defensive setup, citing significant space on the right side of Chelsea’s defense, particularly behind goalkeeper Neto.
“Hull created chances, they high-pressed, they were hard to beat,” Neville added. “I thought it was an outstanding tactical performance from Hull.”
