Ex-Ondo PDP governorship candidate Jegede dumps party

Eyitayo Jegede, the former governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State during the 2016 and 2020 elections, has officially resigned from the party.
In a letter addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Owode/Imuagun Ward 11, Akure South Local Government Area, Jegede announced that his resignation is effective immediately. The letter, dated Aug. 7, was made public on Thursday by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akure.
“Kindly take this as a formal notice of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, effective immediately,” Jegede wrote. He requested an acknowledgment of the receipt of his resignation letter.
Details surrounding Jegede’s future political plans remain unclear.
