I knew Maleek Berry before Wizkid – Davido says amid rivalry
Afrobeats artist Davido recently asserted that he was acquainted with British-Nigerian record producer Maleek Berry before his collaboration with fellow artist Wizkid.
In an interview on the +44 Podcast, Davido stated that he first met Berry in London, claiming, “The first place I came to when I ran away from home is London. I was with Maleek Berry. Ask him, I’m the first person to know Maleek Berry.”
Maleek Berry is known to have a close relationship with Wizkid, further intensifying the ongoing rivalry between the fan bases of the two artists. The longstanding competition between Davido and Wizkid has frequently been reignited on social media by their respective supporters, known as the 30 Billion Gang and Wizkid FC.
