Music Artist Speed Darlington Issues Threats Towards Burna Boy

LAGOS—Musician Speed Darlington has announced his intention to confront fellow artist Burna Boy physically, stating he would not hesitate to engage in a fight if they were to meet.

In a recent interview with Yanga FM in Lagos, Speed Darlington, known for his song “Akpi,” emphasized that he has no relationship with Burna Boy and voiced his willingness to escalate tensions should the occasion arise. He specifically mentioned aspirations to challenge Burna Boy in the ring following his upcoming boxing match against Carter Efe.

“We have no relationship. If Burna Boy enters any room that I am in, I will fight him,” Speed Darlington said. “If I win my match with Carter Efe, I hope Burna Boy will be next.”

This threat comes on the heels of Speed Darlington’s previous legal troubles involving Burna Boy. He was once remanded in prison on allegations of defamation against Burna Boy but was later granted bail. The defamation case is still pending in court.

The tension between the two artists reportedly began after Speed Darlington alleged that Burna Boy engaged in an inappropriate relationship with American rapper Diddy in connection with Burna Boy’s Grammy award.
