Lady I wanted serious relationship with said she’s not ready – Rema
Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, has opened up about experiencing heartbreak after a woman declined his proposal for a long-term relationship.
During a livestream with streamer Okiki on Friday, Rema shared that he approached the woman with intentions of fostering a serious bond, but she informed him that she was not ready for such a commitment. According to Rema, she expressed a desire to continue exploring life as a single individual rather than settling down.
The incident influenced Rema’s latest song, “Oh No.” He described the track as a reflection of his feelings following the rejection. “The song was inspired by a lady I wanted a serious relationship with, but she said she still wants to be on the streets,” Rema explained.
The 26-year-old artist also mentioned that he is taking time to reassess his life amid the rapid changes he experienced after achieving fame at the age of 17.
