Lagos airport gets two ambulifts to assist passengers with reduced mobility

LAGOS, Nigeria — The Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) has introduced two ambulifts to enhance accessibility for passengers with reduced mobility. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) announced the development on Thursday, emphasizing its commitment to improving the passenger experience.
FAAN stated that the ambulifts will assist guests who require help when boarding or disembarking from aircraft, ensuring they receive safe and efficient care throughout their travel. The ambulifts were formally handed over to NACHO Aviation Services by Capt. Abdullahi Mahmood, Director of Airport Operations, who will oversee their deployment and operations at the airport.
The initiative aims to strengthen passenger facilitation services, making air travel more accessible for individuals with mobility challenges. FAAN reiterated that the provision of the ambulifts will offer necessary support to those needing additional assistance during their journeys.
“This initiative underscores FAAN’s commitment to enhancing passenger facilitation services and ensuring that every traveler, irrespective of mobility limitations, receives the support and assistance they deserve,” the statement noted. The organization remains dedicated to improving the overall passenger experience at the airport, aiming to accommodate all travelers effectively.
