NANS escalates UNIUYO students’ NELFUND payment complaints

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has addressed concerns from students at the University of Uyo regarding delays in receiving their upkeep allowances from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
In a statement released on Sunday, NANS President Akinteye Babatunde Afeez confirmed that the issue has been escalated to NELFUND’s leadership after students reported not receiving their payments since January.
Afeez stated that NELFUND has pledged to resolve the situation promptly. He urged affected students to remain patient as the payment process is underway, assuring them that NANS will continue to engage relevant stakeholders until all concerns are addressed and payments are disbursed to eligible beneficiaries.
“The welfare of Nigerian students remains our priority, and we will not relent in ensuring that their rights and interests are protected,” Afeez emphasized. He reiterated the association’s commitment to advocating for student welfare and ensuring that their issues are properly managed.
