Nepo babies don’t have access to cash like Nigerians think – Davido’s sister, Sharon Adeleke

Sharon Adeleke, sister of renowned Nigerian singer Davido and daughter of billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke, recently addressed misconceptions surrounding children from affluent backgrounds, commonly referred to as “Nepo babies” in Nigeria. In a segment of The Moraya Show, she emphasized that despite their wealthy lineage, these individuals often do not have direct access to cash.

Adeleke explained that while children of billionaires and millionaires receive significant support from their parents, they still operate under financial constraints. “Many Nepo babies don’t have access to cash as people often assume. They have more than the average person, but they are always on a budget,” she stated. She noted that while they may inherit assets such as land and properties, they must leverage those resources to generate their own income.

In the interview, Adeleke also shared insights into her collaborative financial planning efforts with her brother. “Davido and I hold a finance meeting every week because it is essential for him to understand how his money is being spent,” she said. She expressed concern over his pattern of extravagant spending, advising him to curtail expenditures on luxury vehicles.

Recently, Davido revealed in a livestream with popular streamer Davrel that he purchased a custom-made Bugatti for $11 million, which is expected to arrive in Nigeria soon.
