NPFL: Kano Pillars unlucky in draw against Enyimba – Ogunmodede
KANO, Nigeria — Kano Pillars technical adviser Daniel Ogunmodede expressed disappointment following his team’s goalless draw against Enyimba during a match at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
The game ended in a 0-0 stalemate, with Ogunmodede acknowledging that his players struggled to maintain their performance in the second half due to adverse weather conditions.
“It was extremely unfortunate; we only played half of the game,” Ogunmodede said in an interview with 54footballx. “The weather in the second half was not favorable.”
Despite the challenges, Ogunmodede praised his team’s effort and tenacity throughout the match. “We didn’t play well in the second half; our focus shifted to redeeming our image and fighting for the result,” he noted.
Facing a team that had gone five matches without a win, Ogunmodede felt his side missed opportunities, particularly in the first half. “We know our capabilities, and we were unlucky not to score in the first half,” he said.
He added, “The second half was tense because of the weather. I commend my players for their fight and resilience. Unfortunately, in football, these things happen. Congratulations to Enyimba for securing a point.”
