Oyo abduction: ‘If they want to overthrow Tinubu it’s not by kidnapping our children’ — Fr. Mbaka  [VIDEO]

Enugu Catholic Priest Calls for Action Against Insecurity Following Kidnappings

ENUGU, Nigeria — Rev. Fr. Mbaka, a Catholic priest in Enugu, has asserted that efforts to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s administration will not succeed through the abduction of children.

In a video statement released Monday, the priest responded to the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, urging authorities to take immediate action in addressing the rising insecurity.

“Governor Makinde, wake up. Let Nigerians march to Oyo State; there’s a governor there,” Father Mbaka stated. He emphasized that such acts of violence would only serve to incite anger against the president.

The cleric suggested there is a recurring pattern of political turmoil in Nigeria, drawing parallels with the challenges faced during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure.

Fr. Mbaka further questioned the underlying motives of current security issues. “If this one goes, who else will come, and they’ll support him,” he stated. He urged Governor Makinde to trace the perpetrators of the recent kidnappings, expressing concern for the children’s safety and emphasizing that many could become victims.

The priest’s remarks highlight ongoing concerns about security in Nigeria amid escalating violence.
