Umuahia Barber Arrested After Discovery of Human Hair in Apartment
Umuahia, Abia State — A barber known only as Emeka has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command following the discovery of a clay pot filled with human hair in his one-room apartment.
Emeka, a well-known figure in Umuahia for his distinctive hairstyling skills, was apprehended on Tuesday after a neighbor, Johnson Ikenga, reported that Emeka had allegedly threatened him.
Police conducted a search of Emeka’s residence as part of the investigation, during which they uncovered the pot containing human hair along with other items believed to have been used for ritualistic purposes.
During questioning, Emeka admitted that the pot was his but was unable to clarify the purpose of the items or the source of the hair. Local residents have speculated that the hair may have belonged to customers who frequented his barber shop.
An official statement from the Abia State Police Command is pending. Emeka has been taken to the Central Police Station in Umuahia for further investigation.
