El-Kanemi Warriors Secure President Federation Cup Title
El-Kanemi Warriors captured the President Federation Cup title on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Ikorodu City in Asaba. Muktar Ismail scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 13th minute.
This victory marks the Warriors’ second President Federation Cup title in three years and their fourth overall in the history of Nigeria’s oldest football competition.
With this win, the Maiduguri-based club will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, alongside Shooting Stars.
Meanwhile, the defeat concluded a disappointing season for Ikorodu City, who also failed to secure a continental ticket in the Nigeria Premier Football League on the final day of the season.
