Taraba State Governor Mourns Loss of Flight Lieutenant in Aircraft Crash

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Flight Lieutenant I.S. Bako, a Taraba indigene and co-pilot who lost his life in a military aircraft crash in Ondo State. Bako was among several military personnel involved in the tragic incident that occurred recently in southwestern Nigeria.

In a condolence message issued to the media on Wednesday from Jalingo, Governor Kefas characterized the accident as a national tragedy, noting that the nation has lost some of its most dedicated military officers. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian military, the families of the deceased, and the people of Taraba State.

“Taraba has lost a gallant son who served the nation with dedication, professionalism, and patriotism,” Kefas stated.

The governor’s message was delivered by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello. He emphasized that Bako, who died in active service, should be honored for his contributions to the country.

Kefas reflected on the personal impact of the tragedy, highlighting that he and Bako shared the same professional background in the military. He remembered Bako as a promising young officer whose life was abruptly ended in the crash.

“I will remember him for his professionalism, good character, and friendliness, qualities that endeared him to his family, friends, and colleagues,” the governor said.

Describing Bako as a courageous and disciplined officer, he acknowledged the late Flight Lieutenant’s willingness to undertake challenging assignments in service to the nation. Kefas reaffirmed that Bako’s contributions to national security would not be forgotten and that his dedication and work ethic would serve as a model for future generations in the military.

The governor concluded by praying for the repose of Bako’s soul and requested divine strength for his immediate family, colleagues, and the people of Taraba to endure this significant loss.
