Manchester City Secures Geronimo Rulli from Marseille for £1.7 Million
Manchester City has reached an agreement to acquire goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli from Marseille for £1.7 million, the club announced on Tuesday.
Rulli is set to sign a two-year contract, joining the Etihad Stadium squad as a replacement for James Trafford, who recently transferred to Leeds United in a club-record deal reportedly worth £40 million.
At 34 years old, Rulli brings experience to the City lineup and has been designated as a backup for Gianluigi Donnarumma for the upcoming season. He has one year remaining on his contract with Marseille.
In addition, goalkeeper Radek Vitek has officially transferred from Manchester United to Middlesbrough in a permanent move. The deal is valued at up to £14 million, with Middlesbrough paying an initial £7 million, along with potential add-ons of the same amount.
Manchester United also included a 35 percent sell-on clause and a buy-back option in the agreement. Vitek spent the previous season on loan at Bristol City in the Championship.
