Troops Arrest Two Suspected Criminals in Delta State
Ogidigben Community, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State — Soldiers from the 63 Brigade, Joint Task Force, South-South, involved in Operation Delta Safe, have apprehended two individuals suspected of criminal activity.
According to Captain Iliyasu Bawa-rijau, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 63 Brigade, the arrests were made following reports of gunfire in the area. During the operation, troops recovered four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two knives, 10 machetes, and four pairs of rain boots from the suspects.
The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
In a statement, the Brigade commended the troops for their efforts. Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, Commander of the 63 Brigade, urged the soldiers to maintain their operational momentum and reaffirmed the Brigade’s dedication to preventing criminal activities within their jurisdiction.
He cautioned individuals or groups who possess illegal arms or engage in criminal behavior to reconsider their actions, stating that efforts to locate and apprehend them would be intensified.
