‘VDM wants to spoil Igbo people’s business’ — Carter Efe reacts to iPhone 18 move
Nigerian streamer Carter Efe has expressed concerns regarding fellow content creator VeryDarkMan’s recent decision to move to China in order to source iPhone 18 devices for Nigerian consumers. Efe made these comments during a livestream on Friday, reacting to VeryDarkMan’s plans to purchase the newly released iPhones directly from China.
During the broadcast, Efe remarked that he was uncertain about VeryDarkMan’s intentions, suggesting that the latter’s efforts could harm local businesses that cater to Igbo people. “First of all, VDM needs to consider how he will gather the resources. He should not disrupt what Igbo people have established,” he stated.
Efe also challenged VeryDarkMan’s foray into mobile device sales, questioning the rationale behind a move that appears to diverge from his known activities. “VDM has never sold phones before but now he wants to go to China to do this. He aims to undermine people’s businesses,” Efe commented.
Additionally, Efe posed a provocative question to VeryDarkMan, saying, “I have never seen someone like you before; are you a witch?”
Earlier, VeryDarkMan had shared a video showcasing his visit to an Apple Store in China following the launch of the iPhone 18. In the video, he expressed his intention to facilitate the purchase of iPhones for Nigerians at lower prices, rather than through local vendors who inflate costs.
