Nigerian Minister Advocates for Tourism Promotion via Miss World Pageant

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, emphasized the importance of using global platforms, such as the Miss World pageant, to enhance the nation’s tourism potential and cultural heritage.

During a meeting on Tuesday with Tamunosoye Karibi-George and her team in anticipation of the upcoming Miss World competition in Vietnam, Keyamo highlighted that both aviation and tourism are critical sectors for Nigeria’s economic development and international standing.

“We must leverage global platforms like Miss World to showcase Nigeria’s tourism potential and cultural heritage,” Keyamo stated.

The minister also announced plans for the ministry to collaborate with international airlines operating in Nigeria. Keyamo revealed that these airlines would be approached to sponsor Karibi-George’s return flight tickets as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria’s representative at the competition would serve effectively as an ambassador for the country, contributing to a positive portrayal of Nigeria on the world stage.
