40 years in politics, I’ve not seen president with better plan than Tinubu — Masari
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Masari has praised President Bola Tinubu, asserting that in his nearly 40 years of political experience, he has never encountered a Nigerian president with a vision as strong as Tinubu’s.
Masari, the former governor of Katsina State, made these remarks in a viral video shared by the Hausa-language media outlet HM Arewa on Facebook on Tuesday. He was speaking to a group of women during a public event in Kaduna.
“In my lifetime and in my political career, I can confidently say that I have never seen a president with better plans to make Nigeria great than Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Masari stated. “I have simply never seen anyone like him.”
He rejected claims that Tinubu’s administration has accomplished little, suggesting that such criticisms are often part of a recurring narrative in Nigeria’s political landscape. Masari cited former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who faced accusations of tribalism and sectionalism after his first term ended in 1999, as well as former President Goodluck Jonathan, who experienced similar scrutiny.
“The people who claim that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done nothing are those who never appreciate when someone is doing well,” he added, implying that the same critics of previous administrations are now targeting Tinubu.
Masari also accused some critics of exploiting religious sentiments for political gain, questioning why faith should be associated with a single ethnic group. He urged the women present to utilize their influence in their households to counter divisive rhetoric as the country approaches the 2027 general election, labeling such rhetoric as the product of “deeply selfish” individuals.
