Terrorists kill two, abduct seven in Southern Kaduna fresh attack

Suspected Terrorists Attack Awon Community in Kaduna State, Leaving Two Dead and Seven Abducted
AWON, Kaduna State — suspected terrorists attacked the Awon community on Monday, resulting in the deaths of two residents and the abduction of at least seven others. This incident is part of a troubling trend of violence against vulnerable communities in southern Kaduna.
The deceased have been identified as Joseph Sule, known as “Big Joe,” and Awilo Madugu. Among those abducted are Gift Victor, Hannatu Yusuf, Salina Sam, Silvia Sam, Dogarah Maisamari, Hassana Bulus, and Joy Samaila, according to sources familiar with the situation.
One local resident expressed concern over the increasing frequency of attacks, suggesting that these incidents represent “deliberate attempts to completely wipe away the people from their ancestral home.” He noted that the renewed violence has instilled fear in the community, with acts of kidnapping and murder occurring almost daily.
An anonymous community leader urged government officials and security agencies to respond swiftly to ensure the safety of residents and their property. The effects of the latest attack have left residents traumatized and frustrated by what they describe as inadequate and delayed security responses to previous incidents.
Awon community leaders are calling for immediate action from security agencies to secure the release of the abducted individuals, bolster security measures, and prevent further assaults in the region and beyond.
This attack further underscores the ongoing concerns regarding security in parts of Kaduna State, where residents continue to face threats to their safety and livelihoods.
