Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorists in Kaduna State Operations
Joint Task Force North West has apprehended a suspected terrorist leader, an alleged ammunition courier, and a suspected logistics supplier during intelligence-led operations in Kaduna State.
The operations took place on Wednesday in the local government areas of Kubau, Igabi, and Birnin Gwari, as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and their supply chains, according to a post shared on social media by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Thursday evening.
In the first operation, troops targeted Dabar Dabo, a community identified as a terrorist hideout in Kubau LGA. There, they arrested a suspected kingpin and two other associates linked to his group.
“The suspects were taken into military custody for further investigation and intelligence gathering,” Makama stated.
In a separate operation, intelligence led troops to intercept a 50-year-old woman in Igabi LGA who was allegedly transporting ammunition. Troops recovered 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag she was carrying. Initial reports indicated that she had traveled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly acquired the ammunition before heading to Birnin Gwari for delivery to terrorist groups in the region.
Later that same day, troops, in collaboration with a community vigilante group, apprehended another suspected logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari LGA. A search of the suspect revealed four communication devices believed to be connected to terrorist activities.
The suspects, along with the recovered items, remain in military custody as investigations continue.
