Suspected Terrorists Kill Local Butchers Association Leader in Katsina State

FASKARI, Katsina State — The chairman of the Butchers Association of Nigeria’s Ruwan Godiya branch was fatally shot in an attack attributed to suspected terrorists on April 21. The incident occurred in the Faskari Local Government Area.

According to security sources, troops from Sector 2, engaged in Operation FANSAN YAMMA, responded to reports of terrorist activity in the vicinity around 1:25 p.m. Upon their arrival, they confirmed that Sa’adu Amadu had been killed at his residence.

The attack is believed to have been orchestrated by a suspected terrorist leader known as Dogo Musa, who reportedly fled the scene immediately after the shooting. “The troops promptly reached the compound and verified the victim’s death,” a source stated. “The assailants had escaped before security forces arrived.”

Following the attack, military personnel attempted to pursue the attackers along their escape route but did not make contact. In response, security agencies have intensified search operations and patrols in the region to locate the individuals responsible and to deter future incidents.
