Nollywood Actor Saga Adeolu Discusses On-Screen Kissing
Nigerian actor Saga Adeolu has expressed his views on kissing in film, stating he would prefer to avoid such scenes if given the choice.
In a recent episode of the “Nolly Icons” podcast, Adeolu explained that, contrary to popular belief, many actors do not enjoy kissing their co-stars. He emphasized that these moments are typically performed to enhance the narrative of the script.
“I have not really had any good on-screen kiss,” he admitted, reflecting on his experiences in various romantic films. Adeolu characterized the act of kissing another actor as “weird,” noting, “It is not easy. It is strange having someone invade your mouth with saliva.”
He further clarified that many actors approach these scenes as a professional obligation rather than a source of enjoyment. “People think we enjoy it, but we don’t. We are just doing it for the story most times,” he said, recalling a day when he filmed kisses with four different actresses.
Adeolu concluded by advocating for greater appreciation of actors’ work, suggesting they should be commended for their performances in such scenes instead of facing judgment.
