Nigerian Army Neutralizes Four Suspected Terrorists in Katsina State
KATSINA, Nigeria — Troops from the Nigerian Army have killed four suspected terrorists during a patrol on the Turare-Yantumaki Road in Katsina State.
The engagement occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Friday, when the soldiers were ambushed by armed assailants, according to security expert Zagazola Makama, who specializes in counter-insurgency efforts in the Lake Chad region.
Makama reported that the army responded effectively, overpowering the attackers without suffering any casualties.
Items seized from the scene included an AK-47 rifle with a magazine holding five rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two motorcycles, various mobile phones, and cash totaling 153,400 Naira.
Among the recovered devices, some Android phones contained images of the suspects dressed in military attire, which have been sent for forensic examination.
Preliminary intelligence identified the deceased suspects as Bishir Holami, Jamilu Baki, Ibrahim Doro, and Abdurraman Maje. They are believed to be connected to a series of attacks in the communities of Gobirawa, Raddawa, Kuki, and other areas within the Dutsinma and Matazu Local Government Areas.
