One soldier killed, another injured in Imo ambush

One soldier was killed and another injured when troops from the 34 Artillery Brigade were ambushed by suspected terrorists in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
The incident, confirmed by security analyst Zagazola Makama on social media, occurred around 12:53 p.m. on May 4 along the SPDC–Etekuru road. The troops were on a mission to assess a burned Hilux vehicle when they came under heavy gunfire from the assailants.
A fierce exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to another. Reports indicate that the attackers fled the scene with two AK-47 rifles and caused partial damage to a military vehicle.
Reinforcements were dispatched to the area, prompting the attackers to retreat. A later examination of the site revealed two burnt vehicles and the bodies of two individuals, which were subsequently transported to a hospital morgue for further investigation.
